The New York Times published a rigorous investigation into Amy Griffin, the billionaire Goop investor and author of The Tell. In the book, Griffin recounts memories recovered through MDMA therapy of sexual assault she says she experienced in middle school. Katherine Rosman and Elisabeth Egan write that “increasingly, readers have raised suspicions about ‘The Tell,’ including in online reviews. Some have questioned the reliability of decades-old memories unearthed during drug-assisted therapy.” They also illustrate how someone with Griffin’s connections can leverage a particular coterie of Instagram celebrities — Gwyneth Paltrow included — to publish a successful book.
Glenn Martens’s latest Diesel show involved a “Diesel Egg Hunt.” Luke Leitch reports for Vogue: “Instead of showing his looks on a closed runway, he took them to the streets. Diesel dressed 55 models and installed them in 34 ‘eggs’— large, open-backed oval vitrines—which were then distributed at locations around Milan (with the support of the city’s mayor).” The first five people to find all the eggs, each affixed with a QR code, won a full look from the collection.

We may start seeing a big influencer push of this Bottega “Campana” shoulder bag — affiliate platform ShopMy (which, full disclosure, Back Row uses) recently plugged it to the entire network. This morning, I got a press release about Julianne Moore carrying it.

Gucci Is BuzzFeed Now
Few creative directors have more pressure on them to deliver — or at minimum, not mess up — this season than Demna. On the news of his appointment to Gucci, replacing former creative director Sabato de Sarno, parent company Kering’s stock fell around 12 percent, wiping €2 to 3 billion off its market value. Reuters reported at the time:
Although widely praised for his streetstyle-inspired looks and attention-grabbing showmanship at Balenciaga, many analysts said 43-year-old Demna… was a risky pick for much larger label Gucci with its reputation for timeless elegance.
The collection seemed designed to assuage them. And what it lacked in innovative fashion, it made up for in marketing
